Fall Management
Falls are a leading cause of injury in elderly individuals, limiting mobility and reducing quality of life. That’s why we work hard to prevent falls in our resident population through a comprehensive fall prevention planning program that identifies residents who are at higher risk and puts strategies in place to mitigate falls as much as possible.
Maintaining Independence
Falls of any kind, whether they result in a serious injury or not, pose a significant threat to an individual's ability to maintain his or her independence. Every fall has a root cause, and we try to understand why falls happen and then put solutions and strategies in place to try to prevent them in the future.
Taking Action & Finding Solutions
Following any type of fall, our care team implements a post-fall review to make any changes to the resident's care plan. They'll make modifications to the resident’s bed or room arrangement to mitigate any future falls, request a PT/OT consult if needed, and work with their physician to review medications and/or order any supportive equipment.
