The dining experience at the Vilas Home is one to be recognized. Each home-cooked meal is freshly prepared with quality ingredients by our team of chefs. From deliciously seasoned comfort foods to delectable homemade pies and desserts, mealtime is not to be missed. Residents receive prepared snacks twice daily as well delivered right to their rooms. And, we make sure mealtime is extra special for our residents celebrating birthdays!
Residents dine in our community dining room and enjoy table service by our attentive staff. Our menus and recipes are overseen by a registered dietician to ensure each resident is receiving a well-balanced and nutritious diet. Additionally, we are able to accommodate special diets such as ¼ inch chopped, mechanical soft and pureed as well as honey-thick and nectar thick liquids.
Snacks are delivered to our residents in the afternoon and after dinner. We know how important it is to maintain one's weight for overall health and safety. Our snack offerings are both nutritious and delicious ensuring that each individual has a well-rounded diet.
We offer special consistency diets for residents who require it. These include ¼ inch chopped, mechanical soft, and pureed. We also offer honey-thick and nectar thick liquids as needed.
We have a licensed dietician that visits the community, observes meals, and monitors resident weights. Our dietician makes recommendations on diet modifications, exercise, and also works with the resident's physician to make sure that each person is stable and not experiencing substantial weight loss.
